I have now been to the Bash all four years and it is my favorite GT out there. I know you love flattery but I thought I would start this thread on what could be done to improve the Bash.
This event has really changed. From the first year where we were stuck in a crowded small (and stinky) room to now having room to actually move around is a great improvement. Also the terrain has been getting better and better.
Please don't see these as negatives, the event is fantastic, but if I had to find ways to improve this event this is what I would do:
1) It seems every year there are less and less unpainted armies. This is a good thing, but it is still annoying to play against unpainted figs at such a large event. I have seen people playing that unpainted models fear painted models or that painted models hate unpainted models.
2) Scenario cards - I like the cards, and I don't like to just put a problem out there without a solution, but something is just missing. Either they didn't do anything (too much canceling) or they were a little overpowered (the magic one where the 1st 3 turns give you a miscast). I am biased since 4 of my 5 games someone used that magic card against me. Just because I used a Lev 4 Tzeentch with Gateway doesn't mean you have to spoil all of my fun
3) I like the final battle being a pitched battle, but maybe next year come up with some new custom scenarios. I always liked when people paint up objectives or messengers.
4) Speed up the match ups. I realize you are aware of this from your podcasts, and I think next year will be smoother.
5) I like how painting has a checklist, but is there a way to see that checklist. I know being a painting judge is a very thankless job and you have to put up with a lot. Maybe have 3 judges and get an average score. For the record I was very happy with my score, but I know some armies were painted much better than mine got the same score.
6) Have someone stand by me every game to remind me to use my Lucky Day. I think I haven't used one in 3 years now
Thank you for putting the time into this great event.
