This has come up in some of the practice games I've played. Are we going to enforce the ambiguous rule about needing to stay one inch away from even friendly units?
I can understand staying an inch from enemy units unless you charge, but the friendly unit part seems like more of a suggestion.
How are we suppose to play this?
I personally think it's insane and I can't imagine trying to force everyone to constantly measure to see if they are an inch away from friendly units at all times.

I feel like it's worded pretty clearly that at no time can another unit come within 1 inch of another except in combat.
My gaming group has had not problem following this rule.
Granted, it has definately spread out our play a bit compared to 7th, but it hasn't been very difficult.

Like Joel said, the 1" rule isn't ambiguous at all. All units friend or foe, must stay at least 1" away from each other (unless charging)We will be playing that rule in effect at BB.
It is up to you and your opponent how you handle it game to game. If we are called on to make a ruling on following that rule or not, it will be to follow it!
It hasn't ever been a problem in any of my games either. It _has_ changed how I deploy and manuver slightly though.
