BTW, it's absolutely awesome that you guys are posting this in advance. I've never seen another tournament do that, and it shows how much you guys care about putting on a great show.
Jerry: most tournaments work around the swiss system in order to prevent clubmates from playing each other. I've seen it done for 2-4 rounds at most tournaments.

Which i understand Rob. But if that is the case, I play Jason Conca (and Eoin Whelan)EVERY WEEKEND. But I have no club affiliation, so how do i not play someone who lives 5 mins away from me?
While the club pairing system is good. I think, if you avoid playing clubmates, someone like me, who isn't "affiliated" so to speak (unless you are talking about my webteam at "warhammerUSA.com" (selfish plug) have a MUCH harder road to victory, as clubs members CAN POTENTIALLY DODGE other good players enroute to winning overall.
Think about it, if you can avoid 1/5th the field, EVEN if that justs lasts till round three, you are playing in a SMALLER tournament than anyone else. Do what you want, but I think tournys like the QCR who give club immunity for 1 round is fine. after that it is pure swiss, and if you happen to be as good as a clubmate well, GOOD FOR YOU, because that shows how skilled your club is.
As it is now Richard, You have two multi GT winners in the HARDEST bracket who are clubmates, who after round one can possibly get paired up to a softer bracket should they win.
Of course you still have to win all your games...
all kidding aside, Club immunity shouldn't last longer than 1 round... But it's gonna be fun regardless. Richard, once the results are tallied can you email them to me so I can add them to the US rankings?

He said though that if at all possible they would avoid playing each other. If both win in round 1, then I would think that they most likely play each other in round 2, eventhough they are in the same club.
I would suggest though that after the tourney that Rich shows the complete pairings for every round, so that people can look them over and see how things happened and get a better understanding of how they wound up where in each round.

True that, I know it is a matter of not wanting to play opponents you see "all the time" which makes sense, but I hope Comp has preferance.
Chances are, it won't make a differance anyhow.

What did the poor greenskin player with the 2nd best comp do to deserve playing Daemon's in round 1? Lindley vs Weber. Is that a grudge match or something? They requested a first round matchup to renew an old friendship, one being from Canada the other from NC. Their stakes are a bit higher as they are playing for armies, wives, & lives! ;D Keep what you kill.

Here's how I plan to do round 2: 1) Winner vs Winner/Loser vs Loser/Draw vs Draw (unless an odd number in which case they could get a winner or a loser). 2) Closest comp score. 3) Closest battle score. 4) Club affiliation, if possible. Round 3: Same as round 2 but drop club affiliation and possibly comp score. Rounds 4 & 5: Drop club affiliation and comp score. I understand your concerns and somewhat sympathize with them, if I'm guilty of anything it's worrying too much about trying to keep all of the tournament "customers" happy. That said, as I think Rob and Brian will attest, we take player feedback very seriously. It is our goal to have the best WFB tournament in the country. We've already got the best TO , prize support, and trophies. I will admit our terrain and tables are lacking, but we are working hard to improve them. And unlike other TO's, I'm entirely bribable, just reference the list at the beginning of this thread. ;D I'll definitely send you the results. Richard

You also have the best scenario system, far and away. I really don't understand why more tournaments haven't "borrowed" it. Jerry - just ask him not to pair you and Jason, if possible. It's really not a big deal. Though my understanding is that Jason doesn't want to do this because it would mean missing out on an easy win.

Yea, that is the rumor i heard. of the 7 players you listed...... If we do a masters, Richard, you bet your ass we are stealing.. (borrowing) your scenerios... Richard, can I avoid playing Jason C and Eoin W in which case, (till no option remains?) Those guys are my regular gaming group. Thanks Jerry

Er, ok so I didn't design the cards on my own, giving credit where it's due, Steve McNamara, Ian Holland, and Alan Hovis assisted. You may feel free to use the card's so long as you give us (me!) credit. Already got it marked, you will not play Jason or Eoin. Richard

What's the word on that Masters? Is Birdoff taking point? Is there a potential date/location, or is it still "sometime/somewhere"?

Well, so far for our ETC team we have tee shirts from pepsi www.warhammerusa.com/phpBB3/download/file.php?id=8www.warhammerusa.com/phpBB3/download/file.php?id=9But right now we are in the beginning stages of the planning. With Aaron F working with Wizard world for conflict, we are looking to be apart of the convention tour, but if we fund it I am still soliciting sponsers. We are targeting Galeforce 9, and some local game shops. As well, If need be I might put one of my entire painted armies as grand prize. (which the winner can sell or do whatever with) I think the tourny will be near the nation's capital. If anyone would like to help, let me know!! Jerry

Actually it's a relatively new friendship, but I'm sure it will end in a punch to the face. ;D Erik convinced me to make the trip (14.5 hours by car if I don't stop for gas/food/bio). I'm really pumped about this one. I've playing in hundreds of tournaments up here in Ontario, but never had a game south of the border. We use ice cubes instead of dice, so I hope the weather stays cold. Cheers, Spanky.

Actually it's a relatively new friendship, but I'm sure it will end in a punch to the face. ;D A punch in the face is the cornerstone of any lasting friendship ;D Oh, the ice cube dice should be fine, but I am afraid you will have to park your moose across the street I tell you what Andrew, how about whoever loses our game has to sign all internet posts (on any Warhammer related forum) for a month with: -andrew (I lost the right to capitalize my name in a WFB game) or -erik (I lost the right to capitalize my name in a WFB game) as the case may be. If the game ends in a draw we both suffer the consequences...What do you say? -Erik (notice the proud, capital "E") P.S. strickly for the purposes of our wager, I'll spot you 300 VP. That is only fair since our armies are not even.
